Privacy Policy (The Driving Academy, LLC)

This privacy policy provides our commitment to privacy for our customers and visitors to our site. We have developed a strong privacy policy to protect your information, whether collected online or otherwise.

Personal Information
Our goal is to meet your driver licensing needs. We collect personal information from you only that you choose to give to us. Personal information may include:

  • Full Legal Name of student
  • Complete Address(s) of student
  • If student is under the age of 18 years old, we will collect name and address of parent or legal guardian, along with all applicable phone numbers
  • Home and Cell telephone numbers for student
  • Email address for student and parent
  • School attending
  • Public High School district living in
  • State Learners Permit or License Customer Number, and date of issue.
  • Payer billing address, receipt email address

Your information is collected either by us, or by a third party, such as registration or payment providers, who are under a confidentiality agreement with us.  We are licensed and regulated the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).  As part of the regulatory relationship, we collect certain information on behalf of the DMV. To learn more about the DMV’s privacy policy, click here DMV Privacy Policy.  Beyond these agreements, The Driving Academy, LLC does not share or sell any information submitted by the student or parent on our website or by other means unless we are Subpoenaed by a Court of Law in The Commonwealth of Virginia, or such Subpoena or Summons is served by Local, State or Federal Law Enforcement.

Cookies
A cookie is a string of code that provides certain information about your visit to our web site. We use cookies to enhance your convenience and experience in using the site. For example, we use cookies; to target the interests of users of our site; and to gather statistical data about visits to our website. We never use cookies to collect personal information about you. At no time do we track your Internet usage, or read private information from your computer.
Our site may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. For session cookies, once you close your browser(s), the cookies simply terminate. We use your information to fulfill your order, including services related to order processing and billing. We also use information collected on behalf of the DMV.  We will also use your information to correspond with you, including to respond to your inquiries, and to communicate with you from time to time about your order, services you have purchased, as well as DMV related regulations.  We may also transfer your information, if The Driving Academy, LLC is acquired or merged with another company.

Security
The Driving Academy, LLC  takes every precaution to protect personal information you entrust to us, both online and offline.  Personal information you provide on our online registration and payment portals are protected using industry standard encryption software – SSL. While on a secure page, you will know that SSL is in use when the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers becomes locked.  While we use SSL encryption to protect personal information online, we also go to great lengths to protect personal information offline and are Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant.  All of our customers’ personal information is protected in our business office and classroom locations. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, instruction, regulatory compliance, billing clerk, or a customer service representative) are granted access to personal information. Servers that store personal information are in a secure environment, behind a second-level security door accessible only to personnel with a specific need to access that area. All employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy policies.

Notification of Changes
If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes in this privacy policy on our website and other appropriate places so you can always be aware of our information practices. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
